At first, I would like to apologize for my long absence, I’ve got a lot of exams at school. I’m sure that you’ve read a lot of things about new Octavia, for example comparsion with Passat on AutoBild.de or review Octavia III on WhatCar.com so I’ll write something different today. I’ll write here my own feelings of new Octavia.
The car reviews is almost possitive. I don’t think, that Octavia III is a bad car, but I’m not sure, that I will change my Octy 2 for it 
. For example a rear suspension: Don’t you think, that multi-link rear suspension will get only 1.8 TSI, isn’t a step back? I don’t like this concern directive. And I can continue … the missing spare wheel, the thimble of fuel tank, the hight price… The new Golf seems a better investment if you don’t need the boot space (the new Golf has more interior space than Octavia 2) . And what about daylight!!! It is hardly visible!
I’ve visited a dealer and got a test drive with 1.6 TDI in Elegance. The driveability is great, I don’t recognise that it hasn’t multi-link rear suspension, but my question is: What about 40.000 kms later? Engines are same like in Octy 2. The center panel crowded in my knee and I didn’t find a better sitting . The interior is German design … not impressing for me. The space past my configured seat was sufficient. But then I try to sit in Rapid. The interior is similar to new Octavia. And the materials is almost same! Because of smaller control panel I’ve got a better sitting in Rapid too! And the space past my seat was almost same… I think that Škoda Auto made a big mistake with Rapid. It should never come into existence. If I had not seen Rapid before Octavia, I might have said something like “wow”…but now I am saying “Oh, a bigger Rapid with some additional electronic features.
At the end of this post I would like to say this: car under 20.000 € – I will go for fully equipped Rapid, car above 20.000 € – I will go for Superb…
